About Us
Our History
The Islamic Society also known as UEL Isoc was formed over 15 years ago. It is the foremost running society that principally represents Muslim students across all UEL campuses. It is by far one of the largest, most vibrant and diverse societies. Its members are made up of students from all over the world bringing together different races, cultures and thoughts all united under the banner of Islam.
UEL Isoc endeavours to create a forum in a friendly, supportive and welcome environment, bringing about an opportunity to learn, live, and experience a truly enlightening way of life through meeting new people and exchanging ideas and experiences. To enable this, UEL Isoc has prayer rooms at each campus. Each house a small library of books tapes, videos and free literature accessible to all students and staff.

Our Teams
We have two teams, the UELISOC brothers and the UELISOC sisters. The brothers division caters for the male students whilst the sisters division caters for the needs of female students.
Each work to create an Islamic experience and atmosphere for the Muslim students on campus and beyond, as well as providing an insight into Islam and engaging in open dialogue with other university members, as well as with the community at large. We encourage and invite non-Muslims to engage with us as we feel this may be their best opportunity to find out the truth about Islam.
UELISOC has hosted various Islamic lectures and talks as well as many successful charity and fundraising campaigns to help those in need.
