The Message and the Messengers

Allah created the first man, Adam, and his wife Eve and after that, their progeny.

“O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women” [Qur’an chapter 4: verse 1 –  English interpretation of the meaning]

Mankind were all Muslim previously, believers in Islamic monotheism. The evidence for this can be found in the Qur’an (English interpretation):

‘Mankind were one community, then Allah sent the Prophets as bearers of good
tidings and as warners...’ [Qur;an, 2:213]

Furthermore, every child is born upon a state of Fitrah (natural disposition/pure instinct- see Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) and Islamic monotheism is ingrained within all and thus, we do not believe in the doctrine of ‘original sin’, rather we believe infants are born innocent.

Allah is All-Wise and All-Knowing, He is able to recompense us for our deeds, reward and punish accordingly, and He does no injustice.

Additionally, an arrogant creature called Satan, who was disobedient to Allah, is an ancient enemy to man. The Satan insinuates, striving to mislead man and cause him to deviate from the path of guidance and Allah warns us not to follow his footsteps.

‘O you who believe! Follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). And whosoever follows the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan), then, verily he commands Al-Fahsha' [i.e. to commit indecency (illegal sexual intercourse)], and Al-Munkar [disbelief and polytheism (i.e. to do evil and wicked deeds; and to speak or to do what is forbidden in Islam)]. And had it not been for the Grace of Allah and His Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure from sins. But Allah purifies (guides to Islam) whom He wills, and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.’
[Qur’an, 24:21 English interpretation]

Furthermore, the devils insinuated and caused man to deviate away from the message of Islamic monotheism. Thus, Allah sent the first messenger among the sons of Adam (peace be upon him), named Noah, peace be upon him, to call his people back to the straight path. (see Aqeedah at-Tawheed)

Allah sent various messengers and prophets to warn their people, during their time. Each messenger called to tawheed (Islamic Monotheism), to worship Allah alone and to shun all false deities.

‘And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah)." Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth).’ [Qur’an, chapter 16: verse 36]

You can find the stories of some prophets in the Qur’an! We believe in Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Joseph, Jonah, Jacob and many more (peace be upon them all).

Following the sending of previous prophets and messengers, more than 1400 years ago, Allah sent a final messenger with the final revelation (The Qur’an), which conveys the final message (Islam) to be followed by ALL nations and ALL people, even to this day and beyond. No new message will come and no new messenger. Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the final prophet and messenger of Allah.

‘Muhammad (peace be upon him) is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allah is Ever All-Aware of everything.’

[Qur’an chapter 33, verse 40]
