The six pillars of faith

Muslims must believe in the following completely:

Belief in Allah

1-Belief in Allaah, The Supreme Creator. Belief in His Oneness, His existence, His Lordship, His names and attributes, His right to be worshipped alone.

Belief in the angels

2-Belief in Allah’s angels, all of them, the names we know and don’t know. They are always obedient to Allah. They are unseen to us.

Belief in the books

3-Belief in Allah’s books- the previous books for the previous times (original versions of psalms, gospel, torah) and the final revelation, the Qur'an.

Belief in the messengers (peace be upon them)

4-Belief in Allah’s Messengers (peace be upon them all), those whose names we know and those whose names we do not know. We must believe in the final prophet and messenger of Allah, whose name was Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.)

Belief in the Last day

5-Belief in the last day- we believe that we will be resurrected after our death, there will be the Day of Judgement and we will be recompensed for our deeds, rewarded or punished.

05

Belief in Divine Will and Decree

6-Belief in Qadr (predestination), the good and bad thereof. We believe that Allah knows all that has happened, that is happening and that will happen, since He is The All-Knowing, All-Wise, and nothing is hidden from His knowledge, He has already preordained everything with great Wisdom and He is never unjust to His slaves.  We believe that although we have free will to act, this does not operate outside the irresistible will and comprehensive decree of Allah the All-Knowing .

It is understood that we have limited understanding and limited knowledge and wisdom, whereas Allah is the All-Knowing Creator. We love Allah!

We hope for the mercy of Allah and fear His punishment and we ask Him to avert us from hell and to admit us to paradise!
